Default Decrease Sup ID Kit's price to 400g

Ok, I guess I'm slow but yesterday I thought about it and I was like wtf... Superior ID kit = 500g, ID kit = 100g

Superior kit = 100 uses
Regular kit = 25 uses

Therefore, if we buy 4 ID kits, we get 100 uses and waste 400g, whereas if we buy a Superior ID kit for 500g, we still get 100 uses but pay more. It doesn't make sense to me. Ok, it might save you like 30 seconds of going to merchant and buying a new kit... but it's not worth it. Lower the price on it, please, ANET.

Let me know what you think people. Either /signed or /notsigned and give me your reasons. Don't call me cheap... 100g is still money.

It's a matter of convenience and a goldsink. I'm sucker enough for it.

It's also the same with salvage kits. It's the trade-off between convenience and cost.

Don't want to buy so often? Buy the sup.
Can't bear to spend that small bit of additional gold? Buy the expert.

Use the commendations to buy them.

You pay for convenience, that is all.

You're actually paying the extra amount to save storage space. That's the difference between four slots of ID kits and one slot of a Sup ID kit. The charge is fine. It's the same with the Superior Salvage kits.

Salvage kits arent really the same thing, as there is a difference in effect between normal and expert...

1. I'm talking about Expert and Superior, not normal
2. This thread is about the price of the item in suggestion, not the effect.

Therefore they are the same thing, as 4 expert salvage kits equal 1.6k, 20% cheaper than the 2k superior salvage kits. When you look at 4 ID kits, it's also 20% cheaper than the superior ID kit.

There's no difference between expert and superior salvage kits in terms of what they'll pull off though.

Expert - 400g, 25 uses. Superior 2 plat, 100 uses. So 400 more gold for the convenience. Although I haven't bought one in ages, I use commendations to get them anyway.

I agree though, 100g for convenience isn't really much.

[edit: beaten to it. ^^]

I think it should be changed, but then again I've never bought a superiour salvage or ID in my entire life because I am not so stupid as some people here who think 100 gp isn't a lot. I've probably salvaged well over a couple thousand times since they invented them, which was like last year with SF.

100/25 = 4 gold per use
500/100 = 5 gold per use

I do feel the 1 gold is a good deal for the convince.

Now ... Sub Salvage vs Expert Salvage cost ratio I would be more support of changing,. but not ID kits.

I think its been said before, but if bot normal and superior kits were the same cost per use, what would be the point in buying the normal ones?

Sorry, I prefer to have it cost a little more, it's paying for convenience and it easily pays for itself.

The price is due to the storage convenience. If they would may a Mega ID Kit with 250 charges for 1.5k I'd gladly buy it.

The 100g is for the four regular kits being combined into one. There's 3 storage spaces saved right there. They pay for themselves soon enough anyway. (zOMG GOLD FURIOUS SUMMIT AXE OF DEFENSE!)

Not signed as you pay more for superior kit taking up less inventory space. If you're worried about 400g after salvaging 100 mods/materials then you're salvaging the wrong things.

Although I agree in some aspects, it's kind of silly seeing a bunch of people say they'd rather buy something for more. It's like walking into a store and selling a gallon of milk for 4 bucks and everyone thinks it should be 5 bucks. Even though the milk should be 5 bucks, don't know why people wouldn't like to agree with 4 bucks lol.
